A semifinalist for the award a season ago, WCU junior shortstop Pascanel Ferreras again graced the initial watch list for the 2023. It's the third consecutive season that Ferreras has been on the annual award's national watch list.
Ferreras was among six Southern Conference shortstops on the initial watch list. He was joined by Trevor Austin (Mercer), Zach Budzig (UNCG), Zac Morris (VMI), Sawyer Reeves (The Citadel), and Jack Renwick (Wofford). Ferreras is also one of five players among the group of 101 shortstops on the list who were semifinalists for the award a year ago.
