Does anyone on here know if the public released drawings of the upgrades of the sports facilities is still listed on the WCU website and if so where? I was telling a friend of mine who went to WCU with me about it and he wanted to see the pictures but i could not find them on the website

This might have been discussed prior but looking at the drawings it looks like the upgrades to EJW and the indoor practice facility would take most of the parking at the stadium. Would this cause a pushback effect where people who normally park at the stadium would then be pushed to bardo lot or camp lab lot? I am for the upgrades 100% but I wonder what the school would do about parking on game days. If we continue to win I could see this as an issue with more people wanting to come and tailgate but no space would be available

Here's another link to the most recent "2022 Campus Master Plan Update" which summarizes earlier plans and ties them all together (it gets confusing trying to keep up with all of them spanning back to about 2014). www.wcu.edu/_files/learn/provost/2022_Campus_Master_Plan_Update.pdfYou will notice on page 30 of the pdf WCU has now pushed the timeline to the indoor practice facility out at our beyond a 10 year horizon. There are two predominant priorities of which the fieldhouse and football stadium upgrades are itemized in the first priority category. I have not been able to locate any new renderings of the architectural design for the new fieldhouse, the new press box, modifications to the east side stands, etc. other than the 2019 rendering. Another poster did provide a link to the 2019 renderings. I will note those renderings were not done by current architect WCU has formally retained. As such, I would not be surprised to see totally different renderings. Anyhow, just my two cents I hope some of you can find the link useful to read. It has a ton of exciting new information and plans for the university as a whole.

I hope we have a parking problem because that is a good problem to have. There is nothing you or I can do to fix a potential parking problem, but if we draw enough people to games that we have to have more parking, the school will have to figure that out and parking garages eventually pay for themselves. I have enough problems of my own than to worry about what Western will do if they do not have enough parking to accommodate attendance at Football games.

I would suggest that the intermural fields should be used for parking and tailgates! This would not seriously damage these fields. The Univ. Of South Carolina did this for years with little or no damage. They could be blocked off if they were wet but dry fields would be fine!

You’re probably not going to see an indoor practice facility. Dr. Brown has said numerous times she does not see that as a critical need.

It looks like we are probably going to get stadium enlargement and enhancements eventually and probably some new football offices with new weight room, etc. the pictures never look like what is actually built. Any additions will be better than what we have.

I looked through the most recent plan and something jumped out at me. Does WCU own alot of the land off Old Cullowhee Rd? I saw in the plan they want to work on building parks, greenways, and restaurant/breweries off the road. Now keep in mind if they installed sidewalks and cleaned the area up it would make an amazing college town strip.
