That might have been our easiest win of the year. We dominated and really never trailed. I guess High Point and GW are better than UNCA or we had two bad games we should have won. Good to get back on the winning track. I think if we played Asheville 10 times, we would beat them 8 or 9 out of the 10 based on what I saw.

Goes to show, you never know, I was most worried about the Asheville game of the 4 Big South games....

A great win against a team that made it to the NCAA tournament last year. Decent crowd given the time of year. Kevin Martin's jersey raised to the rafters in front of an appreciative crowd. First visit to Rogers Bros for the pre-pregame. I'd call that a pretty good day.

Now to respond to your post, lol. Respectfully, I think that's a significant over reaction. We didn't play well for sure, but we didn't get any of our 3 x-factors (McMullen, Battle & Banks) involved. Frankly, it's a lot more difficult to play on the road. If Asheville played at home, we'd have had a great shot at winning, like last season. Case-in-point with WCU, y'all played very poorly on the road vs Gardner-Webb and High Point, particularly against HPU. They won by like 26 or 27 at home. It's like saying they would beat you 9 out of 10 times. I don't believe they would, as you probably don't either. Asheville is a lot better than they played. We beat Wofford without Pember and a good WKU team. Every team is going to have off days. But home court advantage is HUGE, especially in this rivalry. Asheville didn't gell today and didn't get much needed stops. Either way, see y'all next year.

This was the game I was most worried about of the 4 BS games. I knew that both GWU and HP would not be pushovers, but with the way the Cats had been playing up to that point, I did expect to come away from both game with a win. Good luck to the Bulldogs the rest of the season, and we'll see you in Asheville. PS: feel free to come watch us in the SoCon tournament this season...

This was my first time attending a game since maybe 2019. I think it was my first time seeing the new court and video board. It looked pretty good! I still feel like something about Ramsey doesn't quite live up to its potential; that would probably be addressed by better attendance, which would solve itself if the team becomes consistently good.
Anyway, that was a surprisingly smooth game. It never felt in question. The team looks better than I remember it being in the past. Athletic and energetic. I love Coach Gray's energy on the sideline. They played solid defense and I thought they did a good job driving to the basket all day, which helped get open 3 point shots. That will be key since they didn't seem to have much of a post presence. Hope they can keep it together and make a good showing in the conference.
Number 4 for UNCA looked like he could really take over a game. I was glad that he didn't do so in Cullowhee (although he still had a good game).
