I think I saw that 18 GWU players signed with ETSU. Considering that GWU was a playoff team in 2023, I think ETSU will make immediate noise in SoCon play in 2024. Doesn't seem right that a coach can leave one program to join another, and program A gets "gutted" with players leaving to join program B. Guess losing a handful of players in Cullowhee doesn't seem quite as bad I agree, a HC should not be able to competely gut a program like Lamb did to GWU, and Prosser did to WCU... The NCAA did this with their one free transfer rule, they should fix it, but can't as that can of worms has been opened, and no going back now. This is one reason I like the SoCon rule about transfers within the conference...

Is there any case law supporting the Socon's in conference transfer rule?

I guess since GW has had our number for a few years straight, the answer to this question would be yes

Pretty much in today's college sports anything goes.....Covid screwed everything up and opened the gate for the so called wild west to begin....I mean you have players who are in there 6,7, and 8th years of playing.....THIS IS A JOKE but I quess legal....It would be tough to coach in today's era and talking about G-W they got a boot up there ass....This might set them back a few years and my quess is Lamb won't be visiting anytime soon.....

Same thing would happen if Bell left You might be right, but it depends on where he goes if he leaves. If he goes to a P5 school, I doubt many of our players would go with him because we don’t have that many players that would help a P5 school. We would probably have some defections to other FCS schools because our coach left though. If he leaves for another FCS school, I could see him taking just about everybody, but I don’t think he would consider a lateral move or even a top FCS job like Montana or North Dakota State. If he wins the SoCon and a National Championship, we should be worried but I don’t think he leaves for just any job.

I think we need to quit worrying about Kerwin Bell leaving. After he wins something of significance, then we can worry. Right now we are on an upward trajectory, but we saw that a few seasons in with Mark Speir, too (a few 7-win seasons). I think Coach Bell has a different set of expectations and is building a deeper program, but the non-stop thought that he is going to leave seems odd to me.
If we win some conference titles and make some deep playoff runs, then whatever happens we should thank him for resurrecting the program. But IMO we still have a ways to go.

I was not saying he was leaving but my point was with the transfer portal if a coach leaves most of the team leaves and either follows the coach or if they can start elsewhere they will go there
