This comment is not directed at Coach Gray, or any other coach specifically...... But if you are not happy in Cullowhee, or any other town or city, you need to move on. Regardless of how successful you are/can be at a college or university, happiness is most important. Everyone is entitled to an opinion about when and how a coach leaves. But in the end, Coach Gray has to put his family first and foremost. If it takes a different town/city for he and his wife to be happy, then he should move. Athletic programs are bigger than any one coach. WCU will have a down year in basketball next season, but if you are honest with yourself, you knew that....with or without JG. I'm excited for what the future holds. This year sparked new excitement in the program that has been missing for the past several seasons. Go Cats! And that is why I think we hired a good one in Tim Craft, experienced at recruiting at the "so called" mid-major level, as proven to stay at a program for a lengthy time, has had success, is still young as he is only 45 and if he can tolerate Boiling Springs for 11 years, he can definitely be happy in the mountains of Cullowhee.

I was just thinking about how J Gray lost focus this year and was the reason the team lost focus mid-season. We were all scratching our heads wondering why the team slumped in mid-season and lost some close games we should have won. Knowing what we know now, it was because he was focusing on getting out of Cullowhee. He has probably been talking to the beach chickens since early January and we started slipping in mid-January. His head was not with Western and he was focusing on what was next. We will look back on this in a few years and be so glad that Justin Gray is gone.
