We will play 12 games this season and next season (2025). I am pretty sure we will have six home games in 2025. Also, it looks like we will have six home games in 2027 and 2028.That's all I have for now, but stay tuned. Thanks for the update

Was excited to see the spring roster posted on the website - but it's last fall's roster, all the way down to the coaches

The Catamount offense will wear purple jerseys with the defense wearing white jerseys through spring practice. The quarterbacks – as well as those listed as limited or no contact through the spring – will mostly wear the protected red jerseys. Unless otherwise noted, each WCU spring football practice is open to the public. It is respectfully requested, though, that spectators observe from the stadium seating area and avoid being either on the field or the sidelines. Catamount Football – Spring Practice Schedule:
Practice 1: Tuesday, March 12 – 4:00 p.m. – (helmets only) Practice 2: Wednesday, March 13 – 4:00 p.m. – (helmets only) Practice 3: Thursday, March 14 – 4:00 p.m. – (uppers) Practice 4: Saturday, March 16 – 9:00 a.m. – (full pads) Practice 5: Tuesday, March 19 – 4:00 p.m. – (full pads) Practice 6: Thursday, March 21 – 4:00 p.m. – (uppers) Practice 7: Sunday, March 24 – 1:00 p.m. – (full pads / scrimmage) Practice 8: Monday, March 25 – 5:30 p.m. – (uppers) Easter Break – March 27-29, 2024 Practice 9: Tuesday, April 2 – 4:00 p.m. – (full pads) Practice 10: Thursday, April 4 – 4:00 p.m. – (uppers) Practice 11: Saturday, April 6 – 9:00 a.m. – (full pads / scrimmage) Practice 12: Tuesday, April 9 – 4:00 p.m. – (full pads) Practice 13: Thursday, April 11 – 4:00 p.m. – (uppers) Practice 14: Friday, April 12 – 4:00 p.m. – (helmets only) Practice 15: Saturday, April 13 – SPRING GAME – Noon (full pads / scrimmage) * Dates and times are subject to change

Has anyone had a chance to watch any of the spring football practices, and if they have, how are we looking?
I remember Coach saying this should be our year, so God willing and my rebuilt back holds up, I will be in our seats for the first home game.
Steve and Van, have either one of you had a chance to attend a practice this spring.
GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've only watched them once...maybe an hour...couldn't tell much. Will not have another Saturday scrimmage until April. Defense is flying around...New DC (Jerry Odom) is a wild man. Cole looks healthy and Charlie Dean is back at full speed and looks good. Offensive scheme looks the same and defense is very aggressive. I'll check back in a week to 1o days. We could be better, but the schedule is a beast.

Thanks my friend. I look forward to talking to you at the games this fall.
Steve, the schedule looks scarry to me as well, but I am going to make a prediction of our record this fall. I see us going 2 wins and 2 losses in our out of conference games, with the wins against Campbell and Elon and losses to Montana and NC State. I see us going 6 wins and 2 losses in the SoCon. The losses to Furman and Samford and us winning the other 6 conference games.
Kutos to Alex for finding another great coach in Coach Craft. I have heard of a former player at Western that is the head women's coach at Georgia Southwestern University in women's basketball. This is her first year there and she is in the super 8 for the D2 National championship. Her record is 28 wins and 3 losses this year, and her name is Hana Haden and Alex knows about her, so we will see.
GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What has happened to the lack of sports communication at WCU? Just nothing in terms of updates with spring football. Hopefully this is not going to be future of WCU sports communication.
As an aside former WCU football receiver Raphael Williams is 2nd on receiver depth chart at Pitt.
Go Cats!

A weekly update on how spring football is going would be nice. I also wish there was more highlight videos of all baseball, basketball and football games. Alex Gary, I am available for hire if you'd like to make this a reality. Just throwing it out there.

Coach Bell seemed to be on just about every day giving updates on Spring Practice & giving platitudes to standout players. He is either having Kade Bell withdrawal symptoms or the team is looking bad from a player perspective or he is having trouble because of all the Staff changes primarily caused by Kade going to Pitt.
