Very tough to pull Cole in a game like that unless there was an injury that he either couldn't play through or that could become worse. Had we been way ahead or behind I'd totally agree. But if you have a chance to win a game like that I'd imagine the competitor in both Coach Bell and Cole would take over.
Of course we also saw last year what not having your backup truly ready can lead to. Best scenario will be for us to get some leads and get guys game reps, but the way the SOCON is shaping up not sure where we are going to jump out to big leads other than possibly VMI.

He said it was “level 2” and he finished out the game, so here’s hoping he’ll be ready in two weeks I wish in games like this that Coach would give the backups some real game snaps. Heaven forbid, if Cole goes down, it would be good if the backups had game experience. Of course, I am an armchair QB and what do I know. When he hurt his non-throwing shoulder it would have been a great time to give the 2 second string guys some playing time. I understand your thought process but I think coach is trying to win all games because he knows if say they had beat Montana but lost a game to a SoCon team they should have beat that would help come playoff time
