If Kade were to get the job at App St do you think that raises our chances of getting a home and home vs them or would the Sun Belt block them from coming up the Cullowhee? Why are you obsessed with playing the hillbillies? If you had lived through most of the 60 losses out of 77 games, I don't think you'd be in such a hurry to continue that losing streak. Western has a 7-31 record of games played in Boone and 10-24 in games played in Cullowhee. The Cats are 1-13 in the last 14 games played and are currently on a 9 game losing streak to the hillbillies. These are games played back when both schools were on a fairly even playing field, both teams in the SoCon, both team were FCS with the same number of scholarships. The boone goons have been FBS for over 10 years, playing with 85 scholarships the entire time, their football budget was $13,616,432.00 in a total athletic budget of $46,379,642.00 in 2023. Western's entire athletics budget is just a little over their football budget. I say again, why are you so eager to play the hillbillies? Plus, NO FBS team would play a home and home with a FCS team.

The last line is the most important one to your question 04. It is not a SunBelt thing - I think it is that no FBS team is going to do a home and home with any FCS team. Doesn't make any difference on who we schedule with, no team is going to come to Cullowhee. FBS games are a one-way street.

I think an almost $14 million football budget is pretty important too (not even talking about 85 scholarships)

This has been the topic of numerous threads. The consensus by most on here is that there are plenty of other options even if we have to turn to only G5-level teams for money games. Charlotte and ECU in NC can keep us from playing App, Georgia State and Kennesaw in GA can keep us from having to even play Georgia Southern, ODU and Liberty in Virgina, MTSU was a good game several years back, Jacksonville State and UAB in Alabama, a bunch of FL schools. That is just off the top of my head to stay in mostly the same SOCON footprint.
