I just listened to the Furman coach’s post show. I am not sure if they have more than 1 or so wins left this season. I think he is a good coach, but it seemed like he wanted to just give tons of excuses. I know it is tough for a program like them, but when your coach sounds defeated seems like the season is probably over.

The Furman and Western Carolina arrival has always had sour grapes. In every game, the leading team never takes their foot off of the games. Sometimes the games are close but most of the Times the leading coach will keep scoring just to prove a point for the season. It’s just how the rivalry has turned out.

Now that I think about it, I remember Speir tacking one on late in a blowout win against them (might’ve even been a trick play?)

The only glaring issue I saw in the Furman game is that we are very shaky in our FG unit. Another short FG attempt was missed. I dont have the stats pulled up, but i'd say we are somewhere around 50% on FG attempts this season, most of which are 45 yards or closer. I hope this doesnt come back to haunt us down the road.
Otherwise, such a strong performance by the CATS! Let's go out and hammer Mercer the same way next week!
