I looked over the website and the one question I had was if the CC gets most of the donations and facilities does not get alot can some of the money get moved around to cover the facilities improvements? Hey there--sorry to take a few days to get back to the board to answer this. This academic year, which runs 7/1 through 6/30/2025, any gift to an athletics current-use fund (i.e., the scholarship fund, the facilities fund, or a sports-specific fund) "counts" toward your Catamount Club membership. The reason I point that out: if a donor designates their gift to a certain fund, the gift is restricted to that fund's use. If you make a gift to the football program, the university is not allowed to use it for another purpose. (Likewise, if you give to the facilities project, we can't use those dollars to create a tennis scholarship.) Our number one goal in WCU Advancement right now is around building Catamount Club membership back up. Our number two goal is raising gifts toward the facilities project. The Catamount Club is the pipeline for WCU's future athletics support. I'd encourage everyone reading this to join me in making a gift to the Catamount Club. And then, if you're able, make a gift above and beyond toward the facilities project. All of those dollars will combine for your 2025-2026 membership level. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, and THANKS to the admin running this site for putting Cat Club and Giving Tuesday banners up!

Continuing with what James Hogan wrote...the road to a more competitive WCU athletics program is through your financial support.
Coach Bob Waters, Clint Dodson, E.J. Whitmire, several Sylva businessmen and I started the Catamount Club (Big Cat Club at that time) and I served as the first executive director. I've been a member and donor for 53 years (might be the oldest living sustained donor) and IF I can manage to give using my state retirement and social security, so can you. We all BLEED PURPLE and GIVING TUESDAY is a special way to show a lot of special and significant support. A lot of a more well-healed supporters are poised with marching money.
GO CATS!

Sorry if this has been asked before but is the giving Tuesday campaign the start of the public phase of the facility upgrades campaign or is the public phase coming later?

We will launch Fill the Western Sky in January, but please know in the world of campaign counting, we count anything and everything we can. We've been counting in this campaign since July 1, 2019 (Chancellor Brown's first day), so any Giving Tuesday gifts become part of FTWS.
THANKS to everyone who's jumping in to Back the Cats by joining the Catamount Club!
