The one we play on now....called Field Turf...is the FIFTH turf we've played on. The original turf was AstroTurf in 1974. Got hard as I-40 in eight years. The new artificial fields are much more like grass and last a couple years longer. The current is due for replacement soon.

Any chance we can put something down that doesn't look so bad on TV đ I don't know how it looked on TV, but I thought that Furman's new turf was starting to look a little "shiny" in person. It's only been down maybe 3 years.

Remember the old post office? I know most disagree with me but I like the new buildings on campus and I think that the new multi-purpose facility where the post office and the Town House used to be looks 1000% better. Just like the new quad and buildings where Dodson and Leatherwood stands looks so much better than those old buildings. That is what progress looks like. I am glad they are tearing down Scott. Are they also getting rid of Helder because I believe they remodeled that and it got Lead certified a few years ago?

I know Scott and Walker are going - my middle daughter was accepted and we took a tour back in November and the tour guide talked about those 2 and how nice it will be to replace them. Then naturally they say all the freshman will live in the oldest dorms (Scott, Walker, Albright, Benton). If the majority of people who quit a school do so in their first 3 or 4 semesters, shouldn't we be putting the freshman in the nicer dorms to try and entice them? Most of the other schools I have toured with my oldest and middle daughter have put freshman in newer dorms and actually seem to be trying to get upper-classmen to move off campus.

Camp Laboratory School was built in 1964 and was named for Cordelia Camp, an education professor. In 1994, the school used as laboratory classrooms closed, although the building remains home to a number of campus offices.

I had almost forgotten some of the stuff about Reid Gymnasium...although I wrote the piece that is posted. That really brings back some great memories from the 60s, 70s and 80s. What a home court advantage we had back in those days with a pack of rabid fans that could reach out and touch opposing players. A lot of awesome players played on that court.
