2012 (Redshirt Junior): Made 15 appearances on the mound - all in the starting role - posting a 6-3 overall record ... His six victories were tied for the team high ... Worked 84.1 innings with 68 strikeouts against 41 walks ... Recorded at least two strikeouts in all but one start, posting five-or-more K's seven times ... Held left-handed batters to a .203 batting average against (12-of-59) ... Recorded 88 fly ball outs and 84 ground ball outs including six double plays ... In just his second career start at WCU, struck out nine batters in six innings of work in the second game of the season-opening doubleheader against Fordham (February 17) ... Struck out a career-high 10 in 6.1 innings of work in game two of a twin bill against Davidson (March 31) ... Twice worked into the ninth inning but only scored one victory: held the College of Charleston (April 28) to just three hits through eight innings before coming out in the top of the ninth inning with a 7-1 lead; WCU had to hold on for a 7-6 win ... Scattered seven hits through eight innings against No. 24 Appalachian State (May 18), shutting out the Mountaineers until an inherited run was allowed to score in the 5-4 loss ... Was touched up for five runs - only two of which were earned - on four hits with a walk, recording just a third of an inning in the start against eighth-seeded Furman in the SoCon Baseball Championship.
2011 (Redshirt Sophomore): Ranked second on the WCU pitching staff with 26 appearances, but only officially tossed 9.1 innings on the season as a leftie specialist out of the bullpen ... Tossed double-digit pitches just 11 times on the season ... Made 18 scoreless appearances ... Only surrendered four extra base hits out of the 15 hits allowed ... Finished with an 8.68 ERA ... Struck out 14 against nine walks on the year ... Tossed an inning three times including twice against the College of Charleston and once against Elon ... Fanned his then career-best of two twice - at Eastern Kentucky (March 1) and at College of Charleston (April 1) ... Made his first start against Clemson (April 27) but was touched up for three runs on two hits with one walk without recording an out.
Prior to Western Carolina: Recorded a 2-1 record with 27 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched as a freshman for Santa Fe CC, helping the squad to a Florida State Championship and a national runner-up finish at the Junior College World Series ... Finished his senior season with a 10-1 overall record with 100 K's in 52 innings pitched, garnering first team All-State plaudits.
