Very exciting game. Crazy 8th inning. We got shafted on the Ground Rule Double call. Runner on 1st. No outs. Hit to LCF gap rolled to the fence and got stuck under the fence. Runner on 1st scored and the batter ended up on 3rd base before the umps stopped play. After much discussion among themselves and with both coaches, they made the batter go back to 2nd (Ground Rule Double) but they let the run count by the guy who was on 1st. Both players should have gotten 2 bases; therefore no tying run should have scored. But then the guy on 2nd was bunted over to 3rd. P fielded ball and threw to 3rd. Runner was barely safe initially, but came off base and T-White kept the tag on him and the ump called him out. Chuck coach went ballistic and claimed that T-White pushed him off. He should have been thrown out of the game due to the language he used on the ump. That was the 1st out. Then we had the strike'm out-throw'em out double play to get out of the innning. Score tied 4-4 after 8. We got the winning run on a SS boot, a sac bunt, a WP and a sac fly in the top of the 9th. Then the game-ending play at the plate got the Chuck coach ejected. He'll miss the rest of the weekend. Huge win for the Cats!! Morgan McKinney supposed to start tomorrow and Jordan Smith will start on Sunday. It's great to see that one of those tight games finally went our way. It would be nice to send Chucky to the CAA with a couple more losses.

Game 2 - Saturday. Sloppy play by the Cats. McKinney had a very good outing pitching. But we had 2-3 mis-judged fly balls (that do not show in the E column). Only 2 errors on the board, but it was worse than that. Bermudez had his best day at bat (3-4) this season, but his defense was somewhat uninspired.
Still we loaded the bases after 2 were out in the top of the 9th. Down 6-4. But then the 3rd out was made on an IF ground ball. Could-shoulda-woulda...
Jordan Smith on the hill as we go for the series tomorrow.
