Unbelievable !! Davidson beat CitDogs a DH today in Charleston. Gives CitDogs 9 losses in conference play.
All conference weekend play is over as of today, except E-Loan at App. & Furman at GSU have Game 3 on Sunday. UNCG at Samford had planned a DH today to finish the series, but the last game got rained out. They will try to play tomorrow, but I think it's supposed to rain about all day tomorrow in B'ham.
So we have 6 losses. CitDogs and Chuck have 9 losses. E-Loan beat App today so they have 10 losses. Sammy and App both have 12 losses. Furman beat GSU today so they both have 14 losses. Wofford, Davidson and UNCG are all mired at the bottom with 17 losses and their participation in Greenville is a long-shot at this point.
We need to sweep Wofford and App. to hopefully be in a position where we DON'T HAVE TO WIN THE TOURNAMENT in order to go to a Regional. Of course, we want to win the regular season and the tournament. But the last time we won the regular season (2007) we were 2 and out in the tournament.

SCCat66... I see your reasoning to "need" to sweep Wofford and App to get an invite to Regionals, but i would respectivly (sp) disagree.
We are on a tear right now; leading the nation in doubles, top 5 in active home win streaks, #15 mid major, .50 RPI, #5 in the nation in hits, #4 in the nation in HR's.
We have a decent lead in the SoCon and to clinch we need to win 2/6 with the Citadel dropping two (each team has 6 conf games left. OR if we sweep or just win 3/6)and the Citadel loses just one of their remaining 6, then we clinch.

All top three teams won Friday night, WCU, the Citadel, and Elon. Citadel and Elon 3 games back.
