From a blog on the ESPN website:
"As the week progressed, several teams slipped off the bubble either due to their play or the loss of spots to upset winners in conference tournaments.
Some of the losses were limited to the conferences where the upsets were. It looks like North Florida, William & Mary and Western Carolina could be on the wrong side of the bubble after strong seasons after they were eliminated by upstarts."

Our conference is strong in baseball. I'm a realistic type guy. No pie-in-the-sky. I'm as hopeful as anyone. Been keeping this coming weekend open on my appointment calendar for many months with the hope/expectation of being at a regional site. THe SoCon was strong this year. And everyone beat up on everyone else. Our streak pulled us away from the pack, but we were NOT 4.5 games better than Elon and Chuck. It is what it is...

If you want to feel like you were hosed in the selection process, walk a few steps in Campbell's shoes. They finished 49-10; won the Big South regular season; lost the championship game to Liberty and were not selected because (according the selection committee) "of a weak schedule". To which I say, "BS !".
They played Duke H/H and won both games. They played ECU H/H and won both games. They played Chuck @ Patriot's Point and won. They played UNCG @ G'boro and won. They played App on a neutral field and won. They played N.C. State away and lost 5-2. They did not play Coastal because of their divisional scheduling. In the Big South, you play everyone in your division a 3-game weekend series and you play three of the six teams in the other division a weekend series. Campbell did not play Coastal, Winthrop or Charleston Southern in the Southern Division this year.
Liberty sneaked in and won the tournament and Coastal got an at-large bid with a 37-21 overall record (18-6 Big South regular season vs. Campbell's 19-5 Big South regular season). Coastal got selected just because of their history. Florida Gators did also with a 29-28 overall record.
On another front, Clemson people are livid about having to come to Columbia to square up vs. the Gamecocks in the first round. Second year in a row this has happened. Clemson would probably have hosted the first round if they had not gone 0-3 at the ACC Championship play in Durham last weekend.
