We will not have to face Philip Ervin from Samford any more. He was the 27th overall pick in the MLB Draft today by Cincy Reds. Heckuva player.

I'm not sure he's really deserving of THAT HIGH a pick either. But in the SoCon, he could get on base and put a lot of pressure on the defense.
Other SoCon players picked so far:
C Joe Jackson, catcher for CitDogs (a JR) - Round 5, #160 overall by Texas Rangers LHP Nate Smith, a weekend starter for Furman - Round 8, #247 overall by Anaheim Angels LHP Jake Zokan, a weekend starter for Chuck - Round 9, #267 overall by Seattle Mariners RHP Charles Irby, a weekend starter for Sammy (a JR) - Round 10, #290 overall by the Minnesota Twins

Well that doesnt sound good for his chances to come back. Obviously for WCU hope he does come back but if he gets a good deal then kinda hard not to take it. He is hell of a player.
Happy as hell for White and glad someone gave him a shot. Really surprised Hatcher did not get drafted. Someone will give him a chance though he better than alot of kids that got drafted.

I expected Hatch to be drafted after last year. Kinda surprised that he wasn't. Even though is stats were not as strong this year, I was shocked that he wasn't drafted this year. There must be something that the scouts don't like.
