Penalties. Face mask keeps them alive. Like Charlotte Cat said, we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot. We are our own worst enemy.

I'm sorry, but we are playing a team that has over 20 players out for the season.
If we can't handle these guys as beat up as they are, we have little to no chance in the next two games. It's sucks, but you can't argue with reality. The reality is WCU football is still pretty bad.
Our play calling has become so conservative, it's pitiful.
This also certainly has NOT been one of Troy's better games either. Usually he does much better in the second half, today, nothing except bad judgement passes.

Again, Troy under throws, resulting in his third interception. His decision making is not improving, three interceptions against the worst pass defense in the SoCon. Pitiful.
He's is as much a liability, as he is an asset. Everyone of his interceptions, resulted in a GSU touchdown. We have two quarterbacks that are NOT getting sufficient coaching.

The reality is WCU football is still pretty bad. Yep, the understatement of the year. Dennis Wagner's record his second season - 2009 was 2-9, 1-7 SoCon Does that look familiar to this year? Only difference is, he had two DI wins in 2009. The Cats lost to Gardner-Webb by 7 points, lost to Samford by 13 points, lost to Wofford by 9 points, lost to Chattanooga by 4 points, and lost to ASU in Boone by only 5 points. We were in all those games, had an opportunity to pick up several more wins that season. Everyone thought we had turned the corner, the Catamounts had made REAL Progress. The only problem was, in 2010 the Cats went 2-9 again, and you know the rest of the story. This time, don't count your chickens before those eggs hatch next season.

Settle 72. Furman can be a win for us next week. Also App State.
We really need our coaches to step up with plays. I think 1st and 2nd qtr for our O could have seen some points on the board.

Furman can be a win for us next week. You saw or heard today's game, right? How on earth do you think the Cats stand any chance on beating Furman, which is the most improved team in the conference right now. Furman beat App State 27-10, GSU 16-14, and Samford 35-17. We lost to both GSU and Samford in case you don't remember. It would also take a miracle for the Catamounts to beat ASU in Boone. We have something like an 18-58 record against the Goons, and you think they are going to let us win their last ever SoCon game and take the Jug back to Cullowhee forever? Do yourself a favor, quite punishing yourself by putting your hopes in Catamount football wins. You'll just be disappointed, like you've already been disappointed 8 times this season.

Haha! The grumpy old troll is at it again! Let me know when you've been following the Catamounts for 40+ years, then you can call me a troll . If facing reality about WCU football makes me grumpy, I guess I'm guilty of that. Too bad you can't handle that people have opinions different than yours, so you resort to name calling, You either have no opinion of your own or you can't express them. Hell, I wish this Catamount team was good, as much or more than you. However I can face the reality of the situation and discuss their short falls. This is not a good football team, nor will they be a good team next year. I'm not saying the players or the coaches are not good people, just not good at playing the game or coaching the game. We've been at this point with too many coaches in the past, with the same results. I see no reason to believe the outcome will be different this time.

I agree that many people don't want to hear others opinions if they aren't what they feel. If you disagree then tell them why and they may change their opinion but there is no place for calling people names. I have posted two very harsh posts in the past and deleted them when someone constructively disagreed with me and the post I made. At times reality is difficult to deal with and because someone sees and posts the negative based of statistics, records, and facts that they have looked at doesn't mean that they do not support the program or the team. I think at this stage of the season we are all frustrated because we had higher expectation once we saw that the Socon was so down this year. We have 2 last Socon games left then the season is over, show up to the games if you have the ability to, support the players, there is a CAT WALK at 12:20-12:30 at the far end of the Arts lot when the player are walking from the cafeteria to the field be there to support them and show them we are still behind them, then cheer at the game like you've never cheered before and maybe the result will be a win.
