WCU will be traveling to take on Mississippi State. First game tomorrow at 6:30pm cst.

One of the Miss. State Asst. coaches is Nick Mingione, who was on Moranda's staff his first year in Cullowhee (2008). Nick left to re-join his old boss, John Cohen, when he took the HC job in Starkville.

Baseball To Play Western Carolina This Weekend
February 13, 2014
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Due to travel issues, Mississippi State will no longer play Hofstra in a four-game series this weekend. Instead, the Bulldogs will host Western Carolina for a three-game series at Dudy Noble Field. Hofstra was unable to make the trip as a result of extreme winter conditions. All Hofstra tickets will be used for the Western Carolina series.
The 2014 season opener is slated for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch Friday, followed by a 4 p.m. start Saturday. The series finale against the Catamounts will take place Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

9 hour bus ride to Starkville. They are going to have to leave early-early in the morning, if not tonight. Pre-season #2 in Collegiate Baseball poll. #4 in Nat. Coll. Baseball Writers poll. Will definitely help our RPI.  |

I think the coaches and staff did a great job finding a series this weekend with such short notice much less find a series with a top 10 nationally ranked team. The logistics and the time factor alone make getting to MSU and playing ball a win.
Hopefully the reset will not affect the way the guys play on the field, this is a great opportunity.

Go Cats!!!!!!!! I agree 100%. Amazing that something like this could be put together so quickly. Ohio Univ. will only be staying in the South two weeks instead of three weeks. They are scheduled to be playing in Wilmington, NC next weekend and in Statesboro, GA the following weekend. |

A baseball FYI: today and tomorrow games are NOT
on network broadcast. Saturday never was going to be, due to basketball; and the change of Friday's game from 4 to 6 scrambled the schedule. The radio broadcast is local-only (100.9FM WKBB) Friday-Saturday. Jim and Bart tonight, Jason and Mike tomorrow.
Sunday has been changed to be a network broadcast, though.
Dont know, but you may be able to listen on the internet...have to wait and see...

I'm not paying the $12.95 for a month subscription until I know it will include all 3 games. You can go to the WKBB website and "listen live" for nothing.
AFTER THE FACT NOTES. Never was able to listen on WKBB radio station. Paid the $12.95 for the video. Good picture, good sound, MSU announcers but very objective. Not "homers". Very complimentary of our players and our program.
The announcers mispronounced names of some locations... Did you know that Luke Gragg is from MONROVIA FALLS? (I thought he was from Moravian Falls.) Did you know that Cody Jones is from EDNA, NC? (I thought he was from Enka, NC.) Bless their hearts... they tried...
