Not a good outing so far this weekend. I hope it's just one of those weekends, but I'm concerned with the relief pitching. If we're not hitting, out reliefs can't hold back the tide, so far, we've just had to out score our opponents by a wide margine, which we haven't done the last two games.

On Sunday, the Cats will face the tournament host, Georgia Bulldogs at 3 pm. The Dogs are 9-6 thus far, and have beaten both teams we've lost to in the tournament. UGA beat Buffalo by a final score of 11-10 and North Florida by a final score of 4-3. The game will be carried on streaming video (fee) , I could not find a free radio carrier for Georgia Baseball. The cats with bats have certainly been flat the last two games. What's happened? I'd have thought those were two games that they should have won.
Good Luck today against the dawgs.

We outhit North Florida 10-9 but left 10 on base. They left 5 on base. Did not get the hits when we needed it. Baserunner on 3rd missed a signal and did not go on a planned safety squeeze. The batter laid down a perfect bunt. That would have been run #3 and, therefore, would have won the game 3-2 in regulation rather than going to the 10th inning when we lost 4-2.
We outhit UGA today 8-7 but left 9 on base. They left 3 on base. Again, did not get the hits we needed when we needed it. A bunch of well hit balls that were catch-able by the UGA outfielders instead of being 3 feet over to the side and in the gap. Home plate ump was horrible. After one pitch, he tried to instruct Jordan Smith to stand in the center of the mound when pitching. And then proceeded to squeeze the strike zone down on him. Jordan walked 4 and struck out only one. Not a typical performance by a young man in the top 20 in WCU career strikeouts. Mission accomplished, Mr. Ump!
But despite all the would-coulda-shoulda scenarios, we just looked flat and didn't appear to be playing inspired ball. Maybe the Clemson game did something to us that wasn't real good. We have 2 tough midweek road games (also down the GA) this week.
