Softball opens conference play this weekend with the Elon Phoenix. Elon (15-6-1) is 0-2-1 in away games. Emily Cameron leads the Phoenix with a .419 batting average and is tied for the team lead with six home runs. In Cullowhee, the Catamounts are 5-6 overall against Elon. This will be Elon's last trip to Cullowhee as a SoCon member, so we need to make it a memorable one for then with a sweep of the Phoenix.

Western Carolina softball clipped Elon 4-3 in 10 innings Friday at the Catamount Softball Complex.
Knotted at three, in the bottom of the 10th inning, the International Tie-Breaker Rule was in effect, placing a runner on second base. Elon elected to intentionally walk the next two batters to load the bases with Catamounts.
