I am faxing. I would like to set up some kind of loop program so that I could systematically fax them 24 hours per day the same thing.

If the Board of Trustees and leadership, ignore, sidestep, delay what is being expected then what is the next step.
Right now we asking them to address this in a reasonable manner. However with most things money related things very well could get ugly here.
There are other more public ways to address this. And there is no better opportunity than at the games themselves.
There is a quasi civic duty among us to bring up issues to the forefront. I would consider wearing shirts or a pin or colored shirts, signs, flyers, etc very similar to a protest. Most importantly use your voice. And this should and shall commence at the Citadel game.
Otherwise they will mute you. Enough of the loop.

Data taken from The Equity in Athletics Analysis Cutting Tool
This database consists of athletics data that are submitted annually as required by the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) by all co-educational postsecondary institutions that receive Title IV funding (i.e., those that participate in federal student aid programs) and that have an intercollegiate athletics program. Reporting Year: 7/1/2014 - 6/30/2015 ------------------------- Athletic Revenues ----- The SoCon seems to be divided into three sections... (#1 - the have-nots, #2 - the haves, and #3 the shouldn't be in the SoCon) - the have nots ----- Western Carolina - $11,222,113.00 UNCG - $11,801,830.00 ETSU - $13,802,387.00 VMI - $13,022,018.00 Citadel - $14,403,113.00 - the haves ----- Mercer - $15,147,341.00 Wofford - $17,047,400.00 Chattanooga - $17,221,945.00 Samford - $18,493,564.00 - the shouldn't be in the SoCon ---- Furman - $25,940,883.00 Jerry, excellent post. Without a question, there should be nobody on this Board that does not now know why our Athletic Programs are in terrible shape. I still think we have weak coaches but I now know why. Like the old saying, “you get what pay for” is absolutely correct at WCU. When you have a VW Budget, you sure can’t expect a Cadillac Performance. Bardo & Belcher were Athletic Jokes & totally turned their backs on the Students participating in Sports at WCU. Again Jerry, thanks for accumulating these facts. It is terrible that our Football Team has to play Power 5 Teams to supplement the Football Budget to keep the Program afloat. BOT & Chancellor needs to be held accountable on this issue. Somehow or someway, there needs to be a face to face meeting with these people in an open forum with a large number of fans in attendance.

Even at the lower pay we offer coaches, looking at the staff directory we have 14 people listed under "Football". I would imagine just the salaries for those 14 put a serious dent in the $3,132,692 expenditures shown (I looked up salaries for 2017-2018 and our head coach and 2 coordinators were paid a little over $400k - or about 13% of the ENTIRE football budget). Good coaches and staff cost money. Recruiting costs a LOT of money. Travel, equipment, uniforms, etc. all cost money. And I assume all of those items are from the operating budget that is separate from facilities.
For anybody thinking we will get away from playing as many FBS money games as we can possibly schedule - forget about it. Playing 2 of those games make up about 10% of our budgets. Heck - we should look into scheduling ALL of our OOC games as FBS games going forward so we can at least buy new jock straps for the players :-)
And for giggles - I looked at Appalachian's pay for coaches. I know it is apples to oranges, but just the head coach makes more than Speir, Glenn, and Wiley combined. And their top 3 guys made around $1.1M in 2017/2018. Again, they were a school we were basically the same as 20 or so years ago.

It's a sad state of affairs when the Furman basketball budget is only $1 million less than the entire WCU football budget.
Furman basketball - 13 players & 6 coaches - budget: $2,092,284
WCU football - approx. 107 players & 12 coaches - budget: $3,132,692
*Furman's football and basketball budgets are double those of Western Carolina.
-----------------------------
Furman expenditures:
basketball - $2,092,284
football - $6,675,863
Western Carolina expenditures:
basketball - $1,044,112
football - $3,132,692

C'mon. That includes scholarships! You can say what you want, but you shouldn't start rumors when it is clear you haven't done your homework. Schollies for MBB would be about $900K at Furman, maybe $300K for us. For football, more like $4M at FU compared to our $1.2M.
Fake news!

Those are the EADA numbers, BUT you can also find the SCHOLARSHIP expenditures. Do a little math, and NOW you can compare apples to apples. If we have 63 football scholarships and Furman does as well, cost of those scholarships is moot.
