Same bug-a-boos that haunted us just about all season continued in Clemson. Walk-walk-blast. Repeat next inning...
Winning the tournament championship was a very good thing. A real tough, gritty performance by a lot of fine young men.
We have two JUCO pitchers coming in from Catawba Valley Community College for next season. Hope they can help fortify our pitching, and hopefully there will be some significant development on the part of returning pitchers. Games with 12-14-17 BB's are an embarrassment. That's not D-1 college baseball.
The OF will need to be re-built with Brown and Ferrell graduating. Some mention that Bowman might be drafted in the upcoming MLB draft. I hope not.
Spencer Holcomb should be an adequate replacement behind the plate. Not much experience for potential backups.
Infield should be solid and improved. Matt Smith may need to go back to OF if Andrew Bullock is ready to take over 1B defensively. In addition, someone(s) else may need to shift from INF to OF.
We should be very competitive next season. Hope we can avoid another off-season coaching turnover.

Glad to see a small school win the Baseball National Championship. CCU is 5 minutes from my home & they played extremely well for most of season. They are a perfect example of what can happen to a small school that gets a new baseball stadium along with being fully funded. Their Chancellor stepped up to the plate and provided the necessary funding to give them a chance to do what they did today.
