Catamount Sports Forum - Terms of Service
Some things to keep in mind while reading these Terms:
- By logging-in and/or posting as a guest, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service, as well as those of ProBoards. Your agreement to these terms indicates your understanding that, as this service is provided to you free, the Administrators and/or Moderators reserve the right to revoke your access to this forum for violations of these terms.
-An Administrator or Moderator may edit or delete any posts that violate any of these rules
-Any posters/users found in violation of any of these rules may be subject to a ban – this ban may be either limited or permanent depending on the situation.
1. This is a Catamount fan message board, not a place to discuss politics or religion. If either of those are what you seek to discuss, there is a "members only" board where you can feel free to explore those topics, but NOT on the main board.
2. Treat your fellow Catamount posters with respect.
All opinions and points of view are welcome provided they are respectful toward other members. Personal attacks, insults, defamation and distributing personal information about another member without their prior consent will not be tolerated. All members are expected to be civil, even if they do not agree with posts made by other members. All members, especially those that are fans of other universities, are expected to be respectful of Western Carolina University and its coaches, players & employees.
3. Keep it clean.
Do not use the kind of language that would not be appropriate for network television or radio. Do not embed any images that might be deemed obscene.
4. Attacks on the university, WCU players, coaches, faculty/staff members or employees won't be tolerated.
Statements that we consider that defames, maligns or slanders someone will be edited or deleted. Criticism is fair, discussion of published & verified news reports is fair. Posting unfounded or unverified rumors should be confined to the Members Only board.
5. Do not post copyrighted materials in full.
You may post images provided you also link to or attribute your source in the same post Regarding copyrighted articles/press releases/text documents: You may post excerpts not exceeding one paragraph (five sentences) from any material provided you also link to your source. We may delete any posts containing articles/excerpts that do not have links for reference.
6. Do not use oversized images in your posts or your signature.
7. No advertising or spam.
8. Do not post under more than one username.
We have the ability to track your IP address. Barring situations where multiple users are posting from the same household/location - any poster/user found to be using multiple usernames under the same IP address may have their usernames and/or their IP address banned.
9. Stay on topic.
Try not to “hijack” threads. Posts that are incongruous with the topic of a thread may be edited, deleted, or split into their own thread.
10. Registration Guidelines.
Users who register with IP addresses that appear on StopForumSpam, who appear to be using a Proxy service to access the site, and/or whose email addresses cannot be validated via a search of Google, Facebook, Twitter and/or other social networking sites may have their accounts disapproved and may be permanently banned at the discretion of the Moderators and Administrators.
11. The Terms of Service may change at any time.
The Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to change these Terms of Service at any time. Whenever possible, a notice will be posted in the event that these Terms have been altered.
