ETSUDate: weekend series, April 7-9, 2017 Time: The three-game series begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. Location: Betty Basler Field, Johnson City, TN Radio: Catamount Sports Network Streaming Video: SoCon Digital Network Series: The Cats are 62-30 all-time against the Bucs, in a series that started in 1974. The Bucs are 14-12 overall this season, 10-6 in home games, and are 2-4 in conference games. ETSU lost two games each to both Mercer and UNCG in their 3-game series against those two conference teams.

It is hard to win on the road in baseball. The umpire is requiring the pitchers to put the ball on a tee stand for the hitters.

That tough out of conference schedule we had at the first of the season is paying dividends in Wins and RPI. We could win the regular season. I know UNC-G and Mercer are good, but if we can win the Mercer series, we will have the inside track.

Junior infielder C ameron Blaquiere led six Catamounts with multi-hit games, blasting two home runs including an eighth-inning grand slam as Western Carolina rode the seven-run frame to a 11-6 Southern Conference series sweep clinching road victory Sunday afternoon at Thomas Stadium.

Coach Moranda did a good job managing his pitchers this weekend. However, the conference schedule favors Mercer. They seem to have most of the top SoCon Teams at Home this season. As always, it comes down to pitching & the depth of pitching.
