Quality win for the Cats. Out hit Morehead 16-6. Still had 3 errors. Actually, I just did a count of hits at ECU, and only lost on the hit count 30 - 26. The Pirates obviously took advantage of our defense (9 errors to just 1). If you take away 3 innings over the weekend, our pitching looks pretty good. I hope Bobby is getting a good feel for who our starters should be.

It was one of the best crowds I've seen since the Clemson game of two seasons ago...around 1,000 loud and into the game. It had to help the team.

Do you think some rule would stop them if they really wanted to spray beer? I doubt the Cullowhee 5-oh would or could arrest them for spraying beer. My I ask who made such a silly rule that they can't do a beer spray? Probably the folks at Western that worry that it will hurt our reputation. Give me a break.

Actually it came as a result of an incident two or three years ago where some folks went overboard. If I remember correctly, some visitors were at the fence and caused a problem. Not sure if someone got hurt or there were racial epithets or something, but they stopped the victory lap altogether for the rest of that year. I think they now allow high fives or something from the fence. Can someone help me here? I'm inferring a lot from what I heard in the past. I've asked for clarification from a founding member of Left Field Lunatics. Will update.

UPDATE: Host of Facebook and Twitter Left Field Lunatics said that some Catamount fans stood near the right field fence and made nasty comments (some possibly racist) at the opposing team (near their dugout). Randy shut down the outfield post game activities. Has started to allow the victory lap with high fives, but no beer.
