So you let kid with all the errors take a position from someone with less than half his errors. The other 2 1st basemen are getting hosed. That kid must be coaches son lol. Wow just wow. Something is not right. I think coach is using these non-conference games to try some different lineups. Surely he will not go into a SoCon game with untested players on defense that are prone to errors. No matter how much it helps the hitting, errors will kill you no matter how many potential extra hits a player gives you. Unforced errors lose baseball games, period, and you never give up defense to get hitting. It never works because the odds are against you in the long run. That is baseball 101 and I know that coach knows that, or maybe the kid is his son. :-) GO CATS!!!

Coach Mo is trying every way he can to keep Sparks in the starting lineup but he cannot beat Holcomb out behind the plate right now. We need his bat. He was fielding the batted balls OK when he was at 3B but each throw was an adventure. So he's trying him on 1B. Makes sense to me. Our play at 1B has not been flawless through the first several games. BTW, a really great glove man at 1B could have saved Sparks a few throwing errors. The entire infield situation is very fluid with a lot of newcomers (Fr., R-Fr and JUCO) trying to see how the pieces fit. This is a rebuilding year, folks. Been a long time since I've seen so many new names on the roster. We lost our two best starting pitchers from last year... one loss expected and one signing came out of the blue. Also lost our 2-3 best arms in the bullpen also. Stop the attacks on Coach Mo, folks. He and the coaching staff are working to get things set for SoCon play as best they can. If the team gets it together this year, that will be a bonus for me. But I am confident that much progress will be made.

We lost the last 2 games by a total of 2 runs to one of the best teams in the country - still undefeated at 11-0. I hope we are settling in on a solid lineup. Allowing only 3 runs today. When I first tuned in, it was 2-2, but Louisville was hitless. I understand it came on walks, balks, a hit batsman, and an error. Grrr...

I agree with everything that he said. I would add that the only thing we haven't seen is the RS-FR (Fricks) at 2nd (he's been at SS and 3rd) which looking back at his career and summer ball, that is where he has always played. Also, I noticed that we didn't see Bullock today? Is he okay? He's been on fire with the bat.

I thought the team played well on Saturday and Sunday. I thought Baker, Franklin, Purus, and Niezen pitched really well. From what I watched online and seeing their ranking, our pitchers really held down a very potent lineup in Louisville. Offensively I would say those were the best arms our guys have seen as well (plenty of velo which makes their 2nd and 3rd pitches even tougher). If our guys can continue to throw that way I see us winning more than most think. The hitting will turnaround. We are just missing pitches and not hitting well with runners in scoring position. I know all these guys and I KNOW that will get better. And if you don't know by my screen name I am the Robinson's father lol.

I don't think anyone who follows Catamount baseball had to guess about who you are. Welcome to the board! (I wish as a dadof3 that you had enough influence to get Hook back on the air. Miss being able to hear his knowledgeable commentary. LiveStats is no replacement.)

I do miss hearing our own Mr. Hooker. Hopefully we will get him soon. I didn't really like some of the commentary from the Louisville guy felt he was a bit of a jerk on some comments but that is his team so I won't complain much because at least I got to watch the games. Hope to be up in the Whee this weekend and looking to start turning this ship around. We have talent they just aren't performing to their ability at this moment. But like I said the pitching was very good Saturday and Sunday. No need to jump ship as some have been stating on here.

Hey Danny -- Since you are exposed, I guess I will expose myself (not literally haha) as more than the dad of a redshirt Freshman's dad. I wish I could have been there to see Bo hit that triple off of Riley!
And for the record, I do agree with Cat66 -- Bo is a pure 2B -- maybe Coach will give him a shot there -- But, Bo says he doesn't care where he plays as long as he gets to swing the stick!!!
That pitching was REALLY good this weekend -- I think three of the pitchers were drafted out of high school! Definitely, it was as good as we will see all year!
I was proud of our pitchers!
GO CATS GO!

Agreed the pitching was pretty good for sure. Shouldn't see any better than that. Not sure who UNC will throw but I know they won't be shabby either lol.
