Sure hope that Greg has been working and staying in shape, although missing all of Spring Training has to be a negative.
Guess the first team that loses their closer to arm trouble or whose closer is not effective will come calling.
Apparently a lot of the GM's decided to teach Scott Boras a lesson... and Greg got caught in the middle...

Except.... there was a significant offer on the table from the Rockies. So in reality, I would say the GMs saw that he turned that down and just avoided the situation. This seems like a self-inflicted (or Boras-inflicted) problem given what he could have had. Greg should be on the Rockies' staff right now with a huge 3-year deal instead of hoping to get what will be a very incentive-laden 1-year deal. At some point, when there is $50+ million on the table you tell your agent to shut the hell up. Just my opinion.

Agree. I think most owners and GM's consider Boras to be in the same category as hemorrhoids. And about as useful...

I’ll never understand what goes through these athletes minds during contract negotiations, except for what their agents keep spewing to them.

Not a good debut for Greg in St. Louis...
Started the top of the 9th vs. BrewCrew with 4-4 tie.
Walks first batter on 3-2 count.
Walks second batter on 3-2 count.
Out 1 on a Sac. bunt to 3rd.
Intentional walk to set up force anywhere.
Walk on 4 pitches... scores run.
Matheny pulls him.

Cards fans are coming down hard on the manager for throwing Holland into the fire after a two-inning spring training
