This would be a great game to start changing this season around.

This is a great game to let some other pitchers ( Davis, Houston, Mitschele) see the mound and allow position players( Henthorne, Hodges, Wilder) who are sitting the bench an opportunity. What is it going to hurtt?

However great in would be to see some changes I doubt it would be a fair assessment to what these boys that have sit on the bench all year can really do. Kentucky is ranked 9th in the nation. They probably have a pitching staff that is very good with some pretty good bats in the line up. These guys do deserve to play and should with the current ERA's we have and the fact that we have outfielders batting in the 100's with fielding percentages lower than our middle infielders. But somehow they remain in the lineup everyday? A change and a fair chance should have already been given to some of these guys and then maybe we wouldn't be 3-27. The worst thing that could have happened would be, we are 3-27? At least the Coach would be making moves to improve or motivate and he would know if he had the right players playing. Duh...

Hello Everyone:
As a father of a player, you guys know that I try to stay positive on this Board -- not only because I want to stay positive, but also, because I know the players read it (and I've snapped at a few posts that singled players out).
I live in Middle Georgia and drove up to see game 1 and part of game 2 on Sunday -- I had to leave early in Game 2 to get back to help a younger child study for a test (my wife assigned me as the tutor -- haha), so I didn't get to see the end of that game. I heard we had some chances to climb back in that game as well.
But, what I did see was a great job of pitching! Unfortunately, we were unable to get some timely hits that could have made a difference in both of those games. Game 1 was especially hard fought, as the pitchers gave us an opportunity to win.
The team has gotten better. The pitching has gotten better. And we all know this is a tournament conference.
I have been accused of "smoking something" when I say we are going to win, but I think we will.
Coach Mo has conjured up some tournament magic before and I think at the rate the team is improving (and if the bats get hot), we can make a tournament run.
The season is not over! We have a great number of SoCon games left. Let's win, hope we get a favorable tournament seed and who knows?
Keep fighting Cats! We are behind you!

Getting Better? BigBaseball you do realize we are 3-27?? Nothing has changed. Same outcome, same lineup, same production, same ole Coach.

Yep, I edited it. Criticism is ok, you know what's not..... -Admin

Criticism is ok, you know what's not..... -Admin Jerry, why is there an option at the bottom of all my posts labeled (Moderate)? Jerry, Do you not realize that we have young men in the military that are putting their lives on the line everyday for this country and they are in the same age group as the players on the Catamount Baseball Team. It is time for these players to grow up & take criticism for their poor play on the Catamount Baseball Field. The Baseball Game is the PLAYERS. If some of us that have been a Baseball Player for the Catamounts get a little heated about the team this year, I hope you would understand it. This team or the coaching staff does not represent the history of this program or the past players that have made WCU a respected program in the Baseball World. I think the Starting Pitching is getting better but the favoritism for several of the poor performing players is a slap in the face to every young player sitting on the bench. I would hope that you would recognize that & not apply censorship to some of us that identifies the issues that have brought about a 3-27 record. I know that Dads are sensitive on this board & anything related to their sons automatically brings up the protective shield & attack mode. I guess with this group of players we will have to give them participation trophies & provide them safe spaces to prevent them from getting hurt feelings.

Bo needs no participation trophy. I was simply pointing out the fact that over the past several weeks, the team has looked better. True, they haven't found the win column, but you cannot deny that they have looked better and the pitching has improved.
And, the season is not over. It is a tournament conference.
I haven't given up. You do what you want.
