Tyler is on the Astros' 40-man roster but is currently assigned to AAA Fresno Grizzlies. (He is paid at least the MLB minimum)
Tyler is off to a good start at Fresno. Tyler has played in 20 games, as have 2 other players. (No one has played in all 21 games.)
He is batting .319 and leads the team in HR's (5). Two other players have 4 HR's. And here's the best stat... Has walked 15 times and only K'd 8 times. Only one other player on the Grizzlies roster has more BB's than K's.
Team is doing well. 15-6 team record; lead Pacific Northern Division by 4.5 games.
He should be in line for a call-up if there someone in Houston has to go on the DL. He and Tony Kemp (Vanderbilt) are in the best position for call-up, depending upon what position needs to be replaced. (OF or middle-infielder would go to Kemp. Corner-infielder or DH would go to Tyler.)
