People on here criticize alumni's posts for calling out bad play, bad coaching, and the reasons why they believe it is happening. Maybe we have been over critical and harsh but maybe it is also because we had a sense of pride when we put on the uniform and a reputation to uphold that we would be the dirtiest, nastiest, loudest, most hated team that everybody feared to play even during the down seasons. The quotes below are straight out of the Game Notes on the website so before anyone tries to defend the season and the coaching go ahead and check out all the new records that have been set this year.
"Western Carolina’s 42 seasonal losses are the MOST in program history in a single-season, surpassing the previous record low of 38 set back in 2000 ... the program record for fewest wins in a season since going NCAA Division I is 13 (1979)
Entering the week, only the Saint Peter’s Peacocks (1-39) of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) have fewer wins on the year than WCU (6) in the NCAA ... WCU is tied with Savannah State (7-34) which also has just seven victories in 2018
Western Carolina has endured two, 14-game losing skids this season ... the two, 14-game slides represent the longest winless streaks in program history ... This spring’s winless droughts usurp the previous program long of eight-straight defeats that spanned Feb. 27–March 10 of the 2000 season, then first under former head coach TODD RALEIGH
WCU is just 4-22 at home this season, the fewest home victories at Hennon Stadium, supplanting the previous low of seven (7-5) in 1979 ... WCU has just three, non-winning seasons at Hennon Stadium since 1978 – an 11-14 record in 2000, and a 14-14-1 mark in 2011, and this year’s mark"

Only thing good about it is I now can’t say I played on the worst team in school history.
My opinion anyone on team should be fair game to be called out. I respect the rules of the board i don’t run it but Once you hit 18 your not a kid sorry. If I got shelled back in day I’d expect to be called out. This thing would have had my name plastered all over it LOL

I have expressed my opinion most certainly and all of my criticism could have and would have been eliminated if the Man in charge did his job and coached these young men like any quality Division 1 Coach coaches. Let me take that back. Like any Good Coach at any level coaches. You don't let guys who are not performing play game after game after game and not hold them accountable. Then remove a player from the team because he is being negative. I am talking a quality proven young man who obviously could play but wasn't given a chance. There has been absolutely no accountability and extreme favoritism on this team all year long. That is more than sad. I can only say, I hope the guys upstairs are looking and they truly care about this program. I hope they see the down spiral we are in and try to correct it.

Mr Roland, for some of us that played for the Catamounts, this season has been a bitter pill to swallow. The most successful Athletic Program in WCU History has been brought to its knees by a Coach that had some major problems this season. Some of the parents that have players on the team, read the list of championships identified on the left field wall & think about the players of the past that put those achievements on that wall. Now, can you imagine how ripped off former players like Mr. Roland feels about this season & how a once very successful WCU Baseball Program is now the laughing stock of the SoCon. This years Baseball Team has been the worst coached team in WCU’s History. Coach Mo use to be the 3rd base coach when WCU was batting & now he hides in the dugout. Coach Mo had an axe to grind with somebody this season because his actions appeared to me as being nonchalant & could care less about the success of this team or the legacy of the WCU Baseball Program. He definitely needs to go as Mr. Roland has stated numerous times on this board.

It's mind boggling and sickening all at the same time. I actually met Coach Moranda and he seemed like a nice enough guy. He's led the team to a few SoCon championships and the NCAA in the past. I'll give him that.
The only thing I can figure is that he is like the tenure professor that can do anything without worryin about getting fired. At least that is the way he is coaching. I've given my beliefs about the coach leaving pitchers in too long, not pulling a position player that is 0 for who knows how many in favor of a benchwarmer, etc.... What every fan and opposing team and announcer can see, Coach can't or won't.
I don't think the administration will pull the trigger on Coach Moranda eventhough it looks like he is coaching to get fired.

I think if he is coaching to get fired, he will. He may get fired even if he isn't trying to get fired. JUST MY OPINION - I have NO inside source for this info. It just appears that Randy has been patient with other coaches but has hit a breaking point several times recently.

You seem to be dealing more with reality & less with wishful thinking. As far as Coach Mo is concerned, I’m totally baffled by his coaching this season. Maybe he has been Head Coach too long & realizes this maybe a dead in job for him. He wanted the Penn State & University of Cincinnati jobs but failed to get either one of those positions. I wished I knew if Randy has cut his budget & he is thoroughly discussed. I have supported Bobby the entire time he has been at Western but it is obvious that something is eating at him or at least has him completely discussed with the Program at WCU. Instead of coaching like he has this season, he should have submitted his resignation to Randy to prevent a 40 plus loosing season.
