— Prior to their series opener against the Royals, the Astros recalled Tyler White and placed lefthanded reliever Reymin Guduan on the paternity leave list, leaving the club at least three games to experiment with a 12-man pitching staff.
Players placed on the paternity list must miss the team's next game but can miss no more than three total. Guduan arrived in Orlando just in time to witness the birth of his first child, a girl, manager A.J. Hinch said Friday.
It's the first Major League call up of the season for White, who slashed .338/.444/.579 while clubbing 16 doubles and 13 home runs in 277 Class AAA plate appearances.
