Tyler got sent back down to AAA Fresno last week. Brought up JD Davis a 1B/3B from Cal State Fullerton who was hitting .340 with 54 RBI's in 64 games at Fresno. Davis started the season in Houston but was sent down mid-April when he struggled with the bat. Up and down a couple of times this year... like Tyler. Guess they are trying to find someone who can get hot... and also evaluate whom they value most....
Tyler batted .219 for the time he was with the Astros this year (15 games).
Has batted .335 in Fresno for the 66 games in which he has participated. 14 HR's and 48 RBI's.

.219 in MLB doesn't cut it. He's got to prove he can do it at that level and they just don't give you a lot of ABs to prove it.

Astros playing the Giants on the Left Coast today. Giants up 1-0 when the Astros come to bat in 8th. Tyler hits 2-run bomb to LF and Houston wins 2-1 to sweep the 2 game series in SF.
Astros are hot despite patchwork lineup. Four of Astros STUD PLAYERS were on DL today. Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, Brian McCann and George Springer not playing. Amazing! They just finished a road trip 6-2 with lots of reserves playing.
Tyler helps himself greatly (and adds to his value) with performances like today.

Astros got swept 4 games by Seattle... Not good....
Their lead in the AL West is only 2.5 games over Oakland and only 4 games over Seattle. Oakland is 8-2 in last 10 games while Houston struggles.
Tyler's BA is now .274 even after going 0-fer 3 today.
