Hometown: Suwanee, Ga.
High School: North Gwinnett HS
Height / Weight: 6-3 / 220
Position: Catcher
Prior to Western Carolina: Was the primary catcher for a North Gwinnett baseball team that went 60-12 over his final two seasons as a prep including a 36-4 overall mark as a junior and 24-8 as a senior ... Was named to the 2017 Sunshine Southeast Showcase Top Prospect Team.
Personal: Is the son of Erin and Mike Goehrig ... Has two siblings - Ashley and Zach ... Was born in Williamsport, Pa.

2017 SUNSHINE SOUTHEAST SHOWCASE
Michael Goehrig is a 2018 C/1B with a 6-4 210 lb. frame from Suwanee, GA who attends North Gwinnett HS. Recorded a 7.37 60-yard dash. Large and strong frame with tremendous physicality present within the build. Throws downhill from behind the plate and showed quality arm strength. Throws had solid carry and he showed clean transfers and good footwork. Receives well and the accuracy to the bag was a positive as well. The ball jumps well off the bat with a compact swing path. The ball jumps off the bat and he has quality overall hitting tools. Strength through the point of contact and showed good barrel control with the ability to drive the ball to both gaps consistently. Named to the 2017 Sunshine Southeast Showcase Top Prospect Team. Good student.
