He has no confidence that he can bring in anyone that will do any better... that's a helluva position to be in, isn't it?

The biggest problem with our baseball team is hitting, fielding, pitching and coaching (or the lack there of). The problem with our team is just like last season, pitching. Hopefully that will improve as the season goes. Moranda's problem is he leaves a starting pitcher in too long, as he as today again. I think Moranda leaves certain pitchers in for so long as he does not have confidence in many of the relievers. WCU just is not deep in pitching. Also, what is with Jacob Corn's pitching delivery, i really feel the way he shakes his leg before delivery contributed to those wild pitches

We have many new players and we have played well in many of our games so far. I think most fans will be happy with a .500 season this year which will be a major improvement over last year. That would be a good turn around. Nope. Not gonna be happy with .500 season. That'll end up with a new Coach in 2020.

Yep, I’d say we were #4 with a bullet in this particular event.......Thanks to us, everyone else finished 2-1.

He has no confidence that he can bring in anyone that will do any better... that's a helluva position to be in, isn't it? 66, Coach Mo has a long history of failing to remove Starting Pitchers from Games & getting the team in a hole. I think this is a major fault Coach Mo has & he has never been able to shake this monkey off his back. I told 75 in another thread that this past weekend would give us a better idea what are the capabilities of this team. It appears that Nanny was a great pickup for the Cats but I have not seen anyone else that Coach Mo brought in has made a great contribution to the team.

As for going .500, Coach Mo has done that 2 times in the past 4 years and has only had a winning record (above .500) 2 times in the past 6 seasons. He has not finished above .500 since 2014, although he did get us a conference tournament championship in 2016 (the only season we made the post-season under him as we finished exactly .500 at 31-31).
Assuming he gets there to prove last season was truly an outlier, finishing somewhere around or just above .500 is what his record has always been (319-294 and 166-130 in conference play) and with this administration would seem to be enough for him to stay. Not saying that as good or bad - saying it as a most likely scenario.

Out scored 31 to 9 in 3 games, shameful. I was hoping that prior to this past weekend the 5-2 start was a sign that we'd put last year behind us and would be at least competitive again. But dang, 31 to 9.
A brief statistics scan and it's clear what a couple of others are saying about Mo's tendency to leave pitcher in too long and middle relief is looking line an issue.
