Fluor Field will host the 10th annual First Pitch Invitational between Friday, March 8th and Sunday, March 10th, and five of the nation's top college baseball programs will be on hand for a full weekend of baseball.

The 2019 field includes the hometown Furman Paladins, the Michigan State Spartans, the Appalachian State Mountaineers, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Western Carolina Catamounts. Ohio State is the lone team in the field making its Fluor Field debut.

Tickets for the First Pitch Invitational are $9. Each ticket is general admission and is good for that entire day of games. Tickets can also be purchased by visiting the Main Street Box Office or by calling (864) 240-4528.

The full First Pitch Invitational schedule is below.

Friday, March 8th
- 3:00 PM: Western Carolina vs. Michigan State
- 7:00 PM: Ohio State vs. Furman
Saturday, March 9th
- 10:00 AM: Appalachian State vs. Western Carolina
- 2:00 PM: Furman vs. Michigan State
- 6:00 PM: Ohio State vs. Michigan State
Sunday, March 10th
- 9:00 AM: Appalachian State vs. Furman
- 1:00 PM: Appalachian State vs. Michigan State
- 5:00 PM: Ohio State vs. Western Carolina

Very good relief pitching. Some very good clutch hitting in the late innings with men in scoring position. Great effort by Coaches & players. This win was good for the Program & should send a clear message that the Cats are back to SoCon Teams. This should give the players confidence in their ability to play with anyone in the SoCon. Also, Coach Mo did a great job of handling his pitchers & not letting the game get out of hand before pulling them. Hope Coach Mo continues to develop more depth in his pitching staff. Hitting is light years ahead of what it was on last year’s team. The defense is better than last year. Last year the Cats had more errors than hits at this point in the season. The first relief pitcher did a great job & he gave the Cats an opportunity to win. Walker came in and put a ribbon on the victory.
