It's now 70 days until the kickoff of Catamount football on Saturday, August 31, 2018, against the Mercer Bears, in E.J. Whitmire Stadium, Cullowhee, NC To help pass those long summer days, and hopefully get the Catamount faithful more excited about the upcoming season, and knowledgeable of the team members, we'll continue the 100-day football countdown each day until kickoff day. No player is currently assigned to #70 on the spring roster, so we will highlight someone that could wear #70: #70 Devon Stephens Class: Redshirt Sophomore Hometown: Sylva, N.C High School: Smoky Mountain HS Height / Weight: 6-3 / 285 Position: Offensive Line 2018 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in one game as a reserve along the offensive line and on special teams … Made his collegiate debut against The Citadel (Nov. 3). 2017 (Freshman): Did not see game action, taking a redshirt ... Devon was a walk-on last year and isn’t playing football any longer. Just FYI.

Devon was a walk-on last year and isn’t playing football any longer. Just FYI. Thanks for the update and I don't mean that your information is incorrect....... However, for the countdown, I utilize the published spring roster until the new, updated roster is published on the official website. Earlier this week, the new 2019 roster was published and is on the catamountsports.com. So, to make the story short, he's on the 2019 roster as #70, so that's why I put him on the countdown. The individuals assigned to each day is only as accurate as the official roster published by the university.

The latest roster I find on catamountsports.com is Spring '19. Am I not digging deep enough?

The latest roster I find on catamountsports.com is Spring '19. Am I not digging deep enough? Go to the " official roster" on the web site, it has a "season" selector (drop-down menu) in the top left corner, select year: 2019-20 and the 2019 roster will appear. I don't know why it still defaults to the 2018 roster.

Looking at that roster, I'd like to trade a couple of wide receivers for defensive linemen. We have 13 WRs and only 10 DLs. There are 3 DL signees that aren't on the roster yet. I don't think any newbies have been added at all. On the other hand, I like the talent I'm seeing overall.
