Heck of a performance this young man had against Citadel.
Going forward, he is our future and needs to continue to be our starter.
Receivers looked very comfortable with him yesterday.
Also, congrats to outstanding performance by the D!

He needs to be the starter the rest of the way Let's just trust Coach Bell. Wells early on had us in two games that could have gone either way. If Wells gets healthy, I think we will see him play. Davis has two more years. I would hate to see Wells finish his last season on the bench. Remember Davis played in spring and other games before he looked good against the Citadel. I saw lots of passes caught Saturday when Wells was having some drops. Also number 10 seems to be used more. Our defense improved greatly and had an excellent game plan to stop Citadels runs. Best defense against option I have seen that I can remember from The Cats! I say let's just let Coach Bell work it out!

Not disagreeing you about coach making the call, but I think Davis threw one pass in the spring, and it was on a trick play. Don't think we've seen much of him at all. Pretty much all Glover and Mark Wright last year

Wright and Glover are gone. And the coaching staff that chose to play them instead of Carlos Davis are also gone.
Carlos Davis has had two starts and did pretty darn well in both of those games. I am sure that when Wells gets healthy, he will be going back on the field, purely because of his previous relationship with the coaching staff.
But the coaches also know that Davis is the FUTURE, so they are not going to kill his spirit. They have seen what he can do in a game situation. I am confident they will find a proper balance and do the right thing. They are not going to cause him to become discouraged and hit the transfer portal.
They may line Wells up as a TE at times and put in some TE pass plays. Coach Bell has a great offensive background. Let's let him do his job.

I just saw Carlos throw for 400 yards, the Cats score 45 points, and we won our first game. On paper, Wofford is the most “winnable” game we have remaining, so this week might be where we play both - and that I would probably disagree with. Bell has to make the decision, but whatever he chooses I want him to be all-in on who our QB is. I personally would keep building with Carlos, but he has to choose what gives us the best chance to win and I hope he does not alternate guys.
What we need to see is a healthier team who continues to get more comfortable with these schemes (the bye did wonders for us), a Defense who again plays well against the run, fewer penalties, and less turnovers. All of those were better this weekend, but time will tell if that was because the Citadel is awful or we are getting better.
But man - these are way better conversations than we have had on here during a season in a long time!

So - the solution to the Monday morning (literally) coaching we are doing is to - hopefully - build a big lead with Wells, and put Carlos in to finish it off.
