So - the solution to the Monday morning (literally) coaching we are doing is to - hopefully - build a big lead with Wells, and put Carlos in to finish it off. I hate that Wells got hurt, but for the sake of the program my "solution" would be for Carlos to throw for 400+ yards and he leads us to wins in 2 or 3 (or dare I dream 4) of the games we have left as a huge building block for the future. I know it is hard for Wells to lose his job to injury, just like it is hard to bench the guy who was just named SoCon player of the week and got us our first W. No easy choice given Wells put up big numbers and had us in games before he got hurt. Does anybody know where Rogan is at physically?

Here is a thought, why not play Wells and Davis. At this point. Who starts would be who Bell thinks is best against the team we are up against, but if we play both and they have different styles maybe we can throw teams off who have to adjust their defense based on the QB playing. But I like what I am seeing out of Carlos Davis. Look forward to the future with him at Center.

I'd say the one factor our coaching staff is trying to deal with is if Carlos gets hurt. Of course, every team has to consider this every Saturday and this by no means is not a good reason to bench a QB. I'm not sure what the situation is with Wells. It seems every week, our coach says Wells could come back and play, but hence, no Wells. Heck, I'd say the same thing so opposing coaching staffs don't know who to prepare for.

I like the thought of other teams having to at least think about/prepare for either guy, but I have never been a huge fan of the alternating QB approach. I know it has worked at some places, and if it is something that has a plan around it (i.e. one guy gets the first 2 series, the other gets the next 2, and then the hotter hand plays the rest of the way) maybe it can work here. But more times than not fans clamor for "the other guy" while the players can either play tight worrying about making a mistake or they try to do too much and force things trying to impress. As an overall offense I thought we looked better this past Saturday with fewer mistakes and more in rhythm, but that could be as much to do with the game plan (was it a little simpler with Carlos as the QB???), the bye week getting us healthier, the competition, and the team as a whole better understanding the system. The best news in all of this is we have 2 very competent QBs vs years past where due to either style or ability when our #1 QB went down we struggled mightily with our #2 QB.

The best news in all of this is we have 2 very competent QBs vs years past where due to either style or ability when our #1 QB went down we struggled mightily with our #2 QB. In most cases, I am not a fan of dual QBs but in this case, it might work. You have Rogan who is good at some areas and better than Carlos (at this point) on some things, and Carlos is better than Rogan I think in natural talent and is a bigger dual threat but as this is Rogan's last year of eligibility but Carlos has in my opinion proven himself to be on the field and we are 1-6, so my thinking is why not throw both in there and mess teams up. Ex: Rogan plays a quarter and by 2nd quarter when teams adjust put in Carlos then it throws a team off, then create series for both. At this point, we have nothing to lose but we may can gain a few wins by doing this. It only works for a game or two because after a couple of weeks teams will prepare for both. But say do this against Wofford and/or Furman and it may mess those teams up. I am not the coach and I do not make the decisions and will support whatever Kerwin and Kade decide but it's just a thought because both have their positives and negatives but together it may work in stealing a couple of victories and I so want to beat Wofford and Furman more than any other team on this schedule. Of course I say that but whoever starts if they are playing lights out and shredding the other teams defense than no do not take whoever Is in out, but I can see wildcats and trick plays in our game plan if both are healthy

I did notice Carlos sliding each time he ran the ball. Very obvious he was told to do that and that always makes me think Wells is not healthy at least as of last week.

Ask Steve Spurrier how alternating QBs works. Not well at either SC or UF.

To me, you stay with the hot hand. Unfortunately for Wells, he has played well at times (when healthy), but is also very turnover prone.
Davis had a solid performance two weeks ago after Wells went down, then obviously played exceptionally well at El Cid.
Stick with Davis for the Wofford game

Looks like Wells isn't even listed on the 2 deep for this weeks game. So no QB issue.
