Men's golf heads west this week for Redhawk Invitational, hosted by Seattle Univ. at the Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Park, Wash. The 54-hole tournament will be contested over two days, April 4-5, with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday followed by the final 18 on Tuesday. In addition to the Catamounts and the host Redhawks, the 23-team field includes golfers from Abilene Christian, Boise State, Boston College, Cal Baptist, CSUN, Cleveland State, Delaware, George Washington, Idaho, Lamar, La Salle, Loyola Chicago, Oregon State, Sacramento State, Seton Hall, UC San Diego, UT Arlington, UTRGV, Univ. of the Pacific, UTEP, and Wichita State. The University of Washington is also sending individuals to round out the tournament field. Ranked 151st in the latest men's GolfStat rankings, WCU is 12th out of the 23-team field that includes a pair of Top 100 teams in No. 50 Oregon State and No. 62 Boise State. Boise State has two golfers ranked among the top 125 including Hugo Townsend at No. 72, while Oregon State junior Carson Barry is No. 215. Washington, which is sending individual competitors, boasts the nation's No. 5 ranking entering the week including the NCAA's top-rated golfer in senior RJ Manke.
