How does former Catamount Raphael Williams get to play at SDSU after playing at Tusculum and WCU but Tez Walker is ruled ineligible at UNC saying he is a 2 time transfer. He originally signed with ETSU but was injured in high school and he never played there. He then signed with NC Central only to have the Covid season canceled which led to him signing with Kent St. He has only played college football at Kent St. so he should be a 1 time transfer. Williams is listed on the SDSU depth chart as a starting WR this year, his third school and not required to sit a year out. UNC has appealed the decision but no timetable for a decision by the NCAA has been given with the start of the season 10 days away.

Can’t speak to the rest of it, but Williams has to sit out for the Aztecs

This is other schools stuff too. I appreciate the time Williams spent at WCU, and I wish him luck. But, he made his decision, and he's "other schools athletics" now...

You are correct, though some sites still list Williams playing this year. It wasn't until early August Brady Hoke confirmed he would have to sit out unless a hardship reason is filed on his behalf. Still looks like the UNC kid is getting a raw deal from NCAA; maybe appeal will correct his situation. Hopefully this year ends all the extra Covid years. I read somewhere NCSU has a 7th year player on their roster. Between Covid, NIL, the portal and realignment college sports will never be the same. Hope this is finally the year of the Cats.
