If I understand correctly the $35 would be for the main ESPN channels as a replacement for cable. As it stands currently you must have a cable subscription including ESPN for an ESPN+ subscription to work, you cannot just pay $8 and watch ESPN+ by itself. So I don’t think this will have a direct affect on how much it will cost to watch SoCon games. The question is after dropping cable, will the price of all your streaming be more or less than a cable subscription 😆

I read it, but I don't think it's talking about ESPN+. (Actually, I don't really understand what they are saying)
However, there is NO way, I'd pay $35 bucks a month. Their subscribers would drop like flies is they made that much of an increase, FLO Sports would have more subscribers than ESPN+...

If I buy a basic Sling package, (and let's say that ESPN is not included in that package), then that's when i would need to pay ESPN directly $35 for ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc. Hopefully that would also include ESPN+, but probably not.

All the other ESPN stuff requires a cable provider.

For me, this is a great thing and what I have complained about for years.
I read a few other news links regarding this and its not just the ESPN+ service but for the regular ESPN, ESPN2,ESPN3 ESPNews, ESPNU networks. I am sure ESPN+ only will be available for those who just want that and there may be a tiered plan for those who want ESPN,2 and 3, and probably add on costs for all the additional ESPN owned channels. One site I saw is ESPN is considering a starting point of $22 but it did not say what was in the package. I guess we will see soon.
Now for me, I love it because I dont use cable or satellite (I use an antenna and streaming devices) and while each package i get means it cost more, most of the streaming I do is not even available on cable/sat anyway.
Right now I have ESPN+ (well the Disney+ package with Hulu, Disney and ESPN+), but I bum off my parents Dish Network login to watch ESPN, because I dont want to buy a cable/sat subscription and they let me. However, I hate bumming off of them because Im in my 40s and they are in their 60s and I make enough, I just refuse to buy cable and beyond Netflix (they have through their mobile provider) and Amazon Prime (they use mine), my parents dont want to stream.
But with this, I dont have to rely on them and they dont have all the ESPNs on their satellite provider anyway.

Great news for me, I don’t have to bum my dads cable to watch SoCon games!

It's a great deal for SoCon fans. Almost every game is available football/baseball/basketball. As I've said before, it's a far cry from standing on your dresser with an am radio over your head, like I had to do as a kid!
