I am very upset NC State voted for expansion with regards to these three teams and I am not alone. Lots of angry ACC folks. This move all but solidifies UNC, Clemson, and Florida State's exit. UNC will go to the SEC I am afraid. Condoleezza Rice played a role in Stanford's bid and Laura Bush did so with SMU. All three are wonderful schools from an academics standpoint, but not so much on the athletics front that's why they were picked over and left behind when the Big Ten basically destroyed the PAC 12.
ACC all but demoted itself to second tier I am afraid. I hope I am wrong.

This just delays the inevitable. Carolina, FSU and Clemson will eventually leave for the SEC or Big 10 anyway, because there is not enough gold in Ft Knox to satisfy them. Once that happens, many of the others will jump ship and splinter the whole league. This is a bandaid for the ACC and the beginning of the end. College Sports is not amateur sports anymore and the NCAA is really not in control of anything. The portal, NIL and conference realignment is all about the almighty dollar and nothing else. No one gives a rats behind about educating young people so that they can have a better future. That is out the window at all G5 and P5 schools, bar none.
