I was shocked that UTC beat Samford so bad. I guess they were not as good as we thought. That UTC game is going to be tough in thier place. I also was surprised that Furman beat Mercer as bad as they did. I thought it would be seven points or less Furman win. That Furman game could be huge if we can beat UTC at thier place. Might be the setup for the battle for first place and maybe the SoCon.

Chatt will be gunning for us too because of the butt whopping we laid on them in Cullowhee last year. I say bring it. They will not blow us out and we have a good chance to beat them. Chatt and Furman are good but they have really not played anybody yet this year. We are good too and if they don’t take us serious, we will beat them for sure. We should have beaten Furman last year but we dug such a hole for ourselves, we could not overcome the deficit in the 4th quarter but we almost did. They should be more worried about us than we are of them.

Do you feel Mercer is on the same level as Samford?

final scores... Not surprised Furman won, but the margin of victory surprised me, same for the Chattanooga/Samford game, actually Chattanooga might be better than we thought...

I did not think UTC was all that good after the loss to N. Alabama as that team i think only won one game the previous year but the win today showed me they are still a top three SoCon school

I completely got it wrong with Samford today....To be honest that team might have given up on this season....The Chattanooga game will be big and as someone else said they will be gunning for us not only because we beat them last year but kept them out of the playoffs as a result......This might be a three way fight with Chattanooga and Furman.....Mercer?

Furman has been in the top-10 pretty much all season. Them winning at home against Mercer is not surprising, but 38-14 was a surprising score. I still think Mercer is a good football team with a lot of very good players. UTC always has tons of talent, but usually loses a game that is a head-scratcher that keeps them out of the playoffs (WCU last year and Mercer the year before). Samford has yet to win a D1 football game, as their only win is against Shorter. So our win against them is losing luster every week.
We are sitting where we want to right now, and hopefully we don't overlook Citadel and take care of business next week. But then we have a serious gauntlet for 3 weeks in a row against the other 3 teams that will probably be ranked. UTC is a team we have obviously beaten, Furman is a team we usually play pretty well against, but we have been really bad against Mercer. It is a tall order to play all 3 in a row. Luckily 2 of those 3 will be in Cullowhee.
Let's just beat Citadel first.
