Thanks for sharing the link! That's some nice gear. I have a buddy coming up to the Furman game with us that told me the other day he wanted to get some WCU purple gear before that game (he went to UNCC and could care less about the 49ers). I think I'll have to snag him a hoodie for him from this site.

I know some of you think "injury report" info needs to be private, but Coach Bell openly talked about Reid last night and used words like "strain" and "not as bad as it initially looked" on the show. He also rattled off how deep our RB room is bringing up some additional names (didn't mention Jalynn Williams so I assume he is a no-go - but reminded me of a guy like Corey Reddick also being in the mix).
Not trying to start a thread on the state of Desmond's hamstring, but that was very encouraging to hear about Dez as well as several other guys Coach thinks will be able to get healthy over the bye week.
Opponents no-doubt would prefer to play us without him, but my guess is most knowledgeable college football fans wish him the best and want to see him play. Reid is that good.

I think it is quite a refreshing difference thus far in just how transparent Coach Bell is about injury updates. I always got the impression from past coaching staffs at WCU that they felt like withholding a much information as they possibly could for as long as they possibly could. It was as if they were using those tidbits of information as desperate "psych ops" advantages over opposing teams or something. Maybe back then they felt they needed any type of advantage they could get, who knows. I get it, certain things can't be said due to possible HIPPA violations or something of that nature and maybe prior staffs just interpreted those rules different? Who knows.

Obviously there some instances in which you have to keep your cards close to your chest. But in general this kind of information feeds interest within the fan base you're trying to build. For example, I'm always amazed when we venture into the SEC to read the tiny details those bloggers and media outlets cover. Coach Bell seems pretty open to talking about it, within reason. I'm sure he's sensitive to privacy matters where they exist.

It can also work the other way. He planted a seed that Desmond should most likely be back, but he also really talked up the other guys we have at that position. Same with the other players who were hurt and had other guys step in. He went in detail about guys stepping up, and he really talked about the depth we have now versus teams in the past.
Typically coaches have a reason for what they say - sometimes it is for the fans, sometimes it is for the opponent, and sometimes it is for his own players.
And while it has been limited action due to how awesome Reid has been, Adams showed what he can do against a team like UTC and for the season he now has 36 carries for 247 yards (6.86/rush) and a TD to go along with 11 receptions for 85 yards and 2 TDs. He has been huge both times he had to step in for Reid this season - catching the TD at EKU and getting a TD on Saturday.

I am getting vibes that Reid won't play this Saturday. Hope that changes over the next 4-5 days. Thoughts?
