Agree - I thought it was a bit high as a number. One of the other posters said he expected less than 10k. But it is homecoming and a big game. I actually hope it is a good crowd, as both teams being 4-1 deserve for people to want to come out and see them. -Chattanooga last shared a football championship in 2015 - they averaged 10,152 -In 2014, they had an outright championship, they averaged 10,146 -There was a 3-way tie on 2013 - they averaged 9,922 I see a pattern here...

I don't know where this 3 pack of tickets is? I just bought 4 for the ETSU game and didn't see the package and it was not offered.

Hopefully, we will have a lot of band parents in the crowd for the Furman game. Beyond that, I expect a good but not great crowd. (I DO have many folks planning on HOCO though) We should offer free tix to local high schools to make up for the college students being gone for Fall break.

I just looked, too. There are like probably 1-2k available seats not including the sections that are blocked off (visitors, players families, students, etc.). I know lots of late sells and even probably a fair amount of walk-ups. But now this game is set - it will be for WCU to take control of the conference standings regardless of what Furman does this weekend. I doubt we will start selling spots in the student sections until we start seeing a lot of those available seats being taken.

I only used Boone as a comp due to them being in the mountains of NC, being rural location, and honestly I don't know much about the states of Alabama and TN as it relates to the surrounding areas population and if those locations are considered rural. I have traveled alot around NC and SC so I can speak more clearly to those locations. I mean all the NC and SC schools in the SoCon aside from Western are not rural at all so I had to use Boone. 04, I played against Clemson in the 1960s & that University was located in a rural setting similar to WCU. Don’t tell me we can’t have an outstanding athletic program because of our location. It all boils down to having the right people running the show in Cullowhee. I totally could not stand ASU when I played against them but I admire their football ambition & how they went about developing their program. They can provide a successful template for WCU to follow for future planning. ECU provided the successful template for App to follow. Keep in mind that ASU helped WCU to gain admission to the SoCon.

Remember ASU threatened to withdraw their support for Western being admitted to the SoCon if we played Jerry Gaines in the football game that year. He had a year of eligibility left that the SoCon did not recognize. So, we withheld Gaines and started Wayne Tolleson and won the game anyway!!!! Another one of the great Bob Waters recruits!!!
I pull for whoever is playing the Goons and it does not matter the sport.

I remember two teams left the SoCon (William & Mary) & Richmond) because they did not like the admission of three new schools to the SoCon. One of those schools was WCU.
