I was at the game and they made several announcements about the ESPN feed, they said whatever the problem was, it was not at Cullowhee, but in the ESPN system, so there was nothing they could do to fix it. I have no idea how factual that is, but that's what our new Hall of Fame announcer, Gary Ayers said (I don't think he'd have a reason to lie about it, since he's on the radio). Thank you for posting that. It does not matter at this point, but my only thought was that the school provides the feed to ESPN but maybe that’s not entirely true. It’s obviously a non-issue at this point, I was just furious at the time and well, guess I am still upset about it. I remember the days if we weren’t at the game having to listen to it on the radio or watch it on an iPad or something like that before ESPN plus was around…..damn small school problems! Gary is the man and yes, he he’d have no reason to lie. 100% class act!

Knowing people on the production team today (mostly all students, minus talent and producers) I can tell you know one is more disappointed than they are about the game not airing live. Here is a link for any who would like to watch.

The Cats got beat by a more physical and mature football team today. Furman controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Would having Dez healthy made a difference? Maybe? But Cole had pressure on him on numerous occasions, and we all but abandoned the run from the opening series. Furman has experience on their side. A lot of could of/should ofs, but that busted play with 1:20 left in the 4th could have played out differently. I just knew we were going to get that big stop, and go win the game with no time remaining. However, it wasn't meant to be. How will we respond to a tough loss? That will be the tell-tell. If we bounce back strong and beat Mercer next week, we can go 7-1 in conference and 9-2 overall, which positions us great for the playoffs. If we struggle next week.....who knows I don’t think Reid will be back anytime soon. That means the team will struggle trying to run the ball. A hamstring injury takes a long time to heal. Based on what I saw Saturday, I think we will have a hard time beating Mercer this weekend. For me, it is not worth driving from Myrtle Beach to Cullowhee to watch the game. In the SoCon you have to have more than offense to win the SoCon Championship. All you have to do is look at Bell’s recruiting. He goes after QBs, Offensive Lineman and wide receivers. Defense wins championships & offense sells tickets. Saturday’s game proved that point.

I dont know if Reid will be back this weekend or not, he tried to come back and looks like he was not ready but maybe its a minor hanstring and he can return, if he can't one thing I have noticed about Branson Adams is he is very capable RB that can make plays himself, he is not Reid's level yet but he can make plays happen too. Even if Reid does come back, he will be limited and I still think Adams would get about 50% of the workload. Reid got injured during the Chattanooga game and we still found a way to win with Adams and when Reid got injured scoring the touchdown, it was still a back and forth game. Truth is we lost not because we are overrated or outcoached, but this year Furman is just a great team (and it hurts to say it) but its reality, Reid may have been a difference maker for some plays but I am not sure we beat Furman even with Reid. So I think this week, they give Reid rest to heal and give Adams #1 reps in practice. I think Adams is just as capable of making the big play or get that big run.
