I agree but Indiana could be a great job for a coach that can recruit. Back in the day, they were like Carolina, Kentucky and other big time programs. They can still be great if they get the right coach.

Oops. No. I always think of Basketball when I think of Indiana. You are right. The only thing is that they are in the Big 10 so the pay is good.

Big 10 = Big money. Like schools positioning themselves with realignment, coaches are trying to get in the best position they can, too. There are only so many jobs out there in “big boy” football. That number is even smaller when you consider the top 2 conferences that have separated themselves.
With the transfer portal, even Indiana can be a decent football team. Just a couple of years ago Micheal Penix Jr. (the QB at Washington who will be a Heisman finalist) played for the Hoosiers and they won 8 games and were ranked.
And at JMU he is going 11-1 and will at best play in something like the New Orleans bowl. Win 7 or 8 games at Indiana and you’ll make 2 - 3 times the money and find yourself in a much bigger bowl game. Part of what FCS fans always say is bad about teams moving “up” to low-level G5 conferences.
