I hate to bust bubbles, but it's still a rumor and will be a rumor until it's officially announced by WCU, or CCU, or the coach himself. I'm not saying it's not going to happen, but I am saying I don't think that kind of information needs to be floated on the WCU public board, just days before the team is to play in the SoCon tournament.
It's not a matter of censoring anyone - but those things take on lives of themselves. Had it not been for the upcoming tournament, it would not have been anything of concern. However, since these talks have apparently been going on for a while, and the principals involved have chosen to keep them out of the public eye, why do we feel the need to spread them just before an important game?
I guess some of you have never read anything on another fan message board or Twitter that was not 100% the truth. Like my mamma used to say, "If Tommy jumps off the cliff, you gonna jump off too?"

I get your point but the cat has been out of the bag for a week now It could have been out for a month but still didn't need to be made public on this board right before a game with Furman, I'm also sorry you can't see that and can't understand the criticism from other posters. I get information all the time, and I always tell the source of the information I'll not reveal the source or the information, and as of now, I've never gone back on that. I like to know things as well as the next person, but not all things should be shared before their time. ...and you would be surprised who checks in to the posting on this board, players, family members, and WCU staff members.

I think we all need to calm down. JG - assuming the rumor is true was never going to be a long term hire. He did a great job here and put us on the map. The job for the next coach will be easier. And - I don’t care who we hire as long as he is a winner. OK - I should qualify that. He should be a good person who the players respect and perform for.

I hope his career reaches exceptional heights that he cannot even imagine. I just hope for his own sake that he realizes that Western gave him the opportunity of a lifetime and he needs to remember that as he moves up. I figure he will eventually just figure that it was his destiny though like most people.

Regardless of what happens with Coach Gray, the NCAA needs to stop with the nonsense of allowing coaches and other schools to be in contact with each other while a season is ongoing. Last I remember, Coach Gray gets his paycheck from WCU currently. If he decides to go looking for other opportunities, that's fine, but wait until the season is over at your current job.
If it's a matter of transfer portal dates, then change the portal dates till after all tournaments are finished. Coaches being vetted for new positions while the season is ongoing only creates problems for the players and fans.
