Catamount Men's Basketball will take on Southern Conference foe Samford on Tuesday, January 16th at 6:00 PM. This game will be broadcasted on CBS Sports Network on national TV. This is the first nationally televised game from the Ramsey Center in over a decade. Be a part of history and plan to be in Cullowhee for this battle for the SOCON! As a part of this historic evening, Catamount Athletics will be honoring Ronnie Carr and his historic three-point shot, the first in the history of college basketball. WCU athletics will celebrate Carr's historic three point shot at halftime. He'll be joined by members of his family and friends. The festivities include showcasing the recently added number three, complete with Carr's signature, located on Ingles court across from the Catamount team bench. As part of the celebration, athletics will be randomly selecting WCU students to participate in a Ronnie Carr three-point shooting contest during the game. Carr's famous three-pointer occurred on November 29th, 1980 in WCU's 77-70 victory over Middle Tennessee State University at Reid Gym. The shot was made from the left corner with 16:09 left in the first half. The ball Carr used is on display at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
