Furman has our number. I think Richey could bring out a high school team and beat the Catamounts. Richey is now 16-1 against the Catamounts. Richey has a very punchable face

These games matter as well.....It's all about seeding and you can't just lose these games and count on winning the SoCon Championship..... Yep. You lose these games and win the tournament and will end up as a 15 or 16 seed

We need more from Jackson. Remember when he dropped 46 on Wofford last year? When he’s on his game he opens things up for V and others. He missed key open looks today and against Samford. He just hasn’t found his stride this year

Coach Gray has brough his team to respectibality, and that is something we have not had in basketball (or football for that matter).
However, this team does not know how to win the big games, it happened in the tournament last season, happened in Cullowhee against Samford, and just happened again today at Furman, and there is a good chance it will happen in Cullowhee against UNCG on Wednesday night.
They just don't know how to play like they've been there before and win the big ones, that comes with experience, experience that WCU does not have.
If Gray stays with WCU for a few more years, continues to bring in talent, and he can keep the team out of the portal, we may develop the ability to win these big games. Right now, we're not there, yet.
This is not a putdown of the coach or the team, just facing reality, as we WCU fans keep getting our hopes dashed - by this reality.

I honestly think with how both fan bases feel about each other and how close football and basketball are played that Furman is our true SoCon rival

Two tough losses we needed to finish, without a doubt. But as of a week or so ago we led all of division 1 in road wins, which is pretty tough

I was at the game. It was a great environment. College basketball games are hard to win on the road no matter who you are playing. The refs were the absolute worst I have ever seen in a college basketball game. Woolbright was bewildered by the calls today. He kept shaking his head. The refs lost control of the game early and had to go to the monitors at least 10 times. Hard to win on the road when you have to play the guys in the stripes too. We will be fine and we still have a lot of games to play. I figured we would lose some of these conference games. We will beat Furman like a rented mule in Cullowhee. They had the refs and a lot of luck today. Both teams played very good tight man to man defense today and that showed up in the FG percentage for both teams. No doubt we will win 24 or 25 games this year. It’s amazing to me that after every loss, people come out of the woodwork about how bad the team is and that all is lost. We will be fine and I am still thinking we have a good chance to win the conference tournament this year. No team has or will have an answer for Woolbright. Every team we play knows exactly what he is going to do and they can’t stop him. He never changes his game but he always gets his points, rebounds and assists. When we have these scoring draughts, Coach needs to give the ball to Woolbright and let him do his thing.
